SPAM/Junk E-mail Setup

Microsoft Outlook
1. Click on Tools
2. Click on Rules Wizard
3. Click on New
4. Click Check messages when they arrive, then click next
5. Scroll down and check the box next to "with specific words in the message header"
6. Click on "specific words" in the lower pane
7. Enter "X-Spam-Status: Yes"
8. Click Add (in outlook xp) or click OK in outlook 2000
9. Click next
10. Do one of the following:
* click "move it to the specified folder" afterwards you'll click on "specified" in the lower pane and enter the folder you want to drop the mail into
* click "delete it"
11. Click finish
12. Click OK
Microsoft Outlook Express
1. Right click the folder named "Inbox" and choose "New Folder" 2. Type "SPAM" for the folder name and choose "OK" 3. In your outlook express client, click Tools->Message Rules->Mail 4. In the first pane, check the box that says "Where the Subject line contains specific words" 5. In the second pane, choose "Move it to the specified folder" 6. In the third pane "contains specific words" will be highlighted blue, click this phrase. 7. In the blank, type ***SPAM*** and choose "ADD". Press "OK" 8. In the third pane, the word "specified" will be highlighted blue, click this word. 9. Expand the + sign next to your Inbox folder and select the "SPAM" folder you created in step #2, press "OK". 10. In the fourth pane, you can optionally provided a description for this rule, or leave the default. 11. Choose "OK" on to close the rules window.
That's it! Spam filtering is setup, every message that FirstLink technology marks as spam will now arrive in the "SPAM" folder for you to periodically delete or evaluate it's status as spam. We recommend not deleting these emails, in case a legitimate email is marked as spam.
